Pray At The Seashore Shrine
Kiew Tien Keng Shrine is one of the best places to say a Prayer to the gods. Apart from being undoubtedly beautiful, the location of the shrine is a clear sign of prayers gone directly to the gods. Standing tall on the promenade are impressive eight immortals looking out at the sea. The killer attraction in this shrine is a silver statue of a non-traditional Chinese monk known as Ji Gong. He was a talented medicine and who despite consuming meat and alcohol; had a big heart and was a hero for the poor. His statue is the smiling monk wearing beggar like clothes and holding funny staff with him. This is something not to miss. During the last day of the vegetarian festival, there is a colorful procession of individuals of the various shrines participating in the ceremony. All the gods and deities depart to heaven from this shrine during the last day of the vegetarian festival. The participants resume to a normal diet after devotion for nine days.
